Henry Moore sculpture stolen

A Reclining Figure – an eleven foot long sculpture by Henry Moore has been stolen from Perry Green, Moore’s country estate near Bishop’s Strortford in Hertfordshire.

The theft, which took place on Thursday evening, involved three men with two vehicles said local police.

A reward is being offered by the Henry Moore Foundation for information leading to the recovery of the piece.

Valued at £3m, the bronze statue may have been stolen for its scrap value said police.

    Hmm…. as if you would leave a £ 3 million pound item outside in the corner of a parking area in the first place propped up on pieces of wood, even if it is 2 ton in weight it’s still going to go walk about sooner or later

    I can’t imagine how they managed to steal it without anyone noticing… plus what will they do with it. Do you reckon it will be heading to a private collection?

    Yeah I would of thought it is wanted for a private collection rather than being melted down for scrap
